Ames Chamber of Commerce

The Ames Chamber of Commerce is a private, non-profit corporation made up of concerned business and professional people who volunteer their time and resources to make Ames a better place to live, work and do business. The mission of the Ames Chamber of Commerce is to provide our members services that strengthen the economic vitality in Ames and enhance the quality of life in our community.
More than 500 members benefit from exposure, networking and becoming a part of a unified voice on business issues. The Chamber provides programs that help area businesses grow, expand and locate in Ames.

The Ames Economic Development Commission is an Affiliate Organization of the Ames Chamber of Commerce.

The Ames Foundation

The Ames Foundation serves as the catalyst for the identification and execution of projects that enhance the quality of life and create a greater sense of community among citizens.  For more than 30 years, The Ames Foundation has sought out and raised money for both large and small projects to enhance the city including the  Restoration of the historic Band Shell Park, the beautification of Downtown Ames, the Veterans Memorial and the City of Ames Dog Park.  The Foundation also connects resources with projects in cooperation with public agencies, civic organizations, private entities and individuals.

    

 

Ames Main Street

Ames Main Street was established on January 1, 2014.  It is the result of a 2-year local initiative to create a unique identity and focus for downtown. The presence of key cultural institutions in Downtown Ames - along with unique, locally owned businesses - made this move a logical development. The concept has been strongly embraced by numerous community businesses, organizations, and individual residents. Ames Main Street is an investor-based organization, open to anyone in the community that would like to support its development and enjoy its benefits.

        

 

Ames Main Street Farmers' Market

Fresh fruits, veggies, meats & breads. Hand crafted goods. Family entertainment. The Ames Main Street Farmers' Market has it all! Located on the 300 and 400 block of Main Street, including the Tom Evans Plaza, the Ames Main Street Farmers’ Market brings local food and fun to the heart of Ames. Ames Seed Capital

The Ames Seed Capital is a pool of investment funds contributed by private sources (entities and individuals) for the purpose of providing equity financing for business start-ups and/or expansions in Ames, Story City, Nevada, Huxley and related Story County areas.

Formed in 2002 and affiliated with the Ames Chamber of Commerce, FUEL Story County exists to connect young professionals with each other, the business community, and the city in which we live, work and play.

        

 

Startup Ames

Startup Ames is an initiative led by local entrepreneurs that brings together local entrepreneurs to foster a robust community––creating fertile ground to launch new businesses in Ames.
