Getting Plugged into Ames/Story County

Posted on November 13, 2019 at 9:00 AM by Allee Wengert

In a town 60,000 people strong, it can be intimidating to venture out and make new connections or explore new places. Facebook is flooded with events and opinions; how do you even begin to filter through it all? Let me introduce you to FUEL Story County.

What is FUEL?

Formed in 2002 and affiliated with the Ames Chamber of Commerce, FUEL Story County exists to connect young professionals with each other, the business community, and the city in which we live, work, and play.

FUEL seeks to promote and preserve the businesses, attractions, and events that make Story County unique. We provide a forum for professional networking, development, and social events. The members represent a unified and credible voice for young professionals on community issues, with an emphasis on enrichment and quality-of-life opportunities.
