Did you know there are over 11,000 preschool through 12th grade students in Story County? That’s a lot of talent for our future workforce! Get to know these students now and help them discover all of the opportunity right here at home.
In a new section of our website, Future Ready Story County, we are serving as the connector for teachers, students, parents and business partners. What does this mean for you as a member of the business community?
- Bring Students on Site – Give students a behind-the-scenes look at your organization by signing up to host student tours, job shadows and short-term internships.
- Collaborative Projects – Register with the Future Ready Iowa Clearinghouse to post real-world projects that high school students could complete for you. Some past projects include market research, branding, design, videos and website development.
- Lead the Way – Volunteer to participate in our youth leadership development program, PILOT, mock interviews, career fairs, Sector Summits and more. We want your input as we continue to create innovative programming and experiences for our youth.
- Adopt-a-Classroom – Maybe bringing students on-site isn’t the best fit for your company. If that’s the case, we can connect you to a classroom! By adopting-a-classroom, you’ll be matched with one class for an entire school year and will have the opportunity to visit as a guest reader, lead activities that have to do with your industry, donate classroom supplies and more. This option is available for preschool through fifth grade.
Hop over to our Developing Talent section now to explore Future Ready Story County! We look forward to connecting you with the bright young minds of tomorrow’s workforce.
